You may also check the accuracy of your speedometer by yourself. While driving, keep a steady speed and clock yourself between the mile posts on most highways. Below is an accuracy chart with MPH and seconds to aid you. For example, if you were traveling steadily at 55 MPH, you should count 65 seconds between one mile post and another.
